PostBirthers and booze

At this point I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Here is a taste of yesterdays White House press conference:

Q: Is there anything you can say to make the birthers go away?

Gibbs: No. (laughter) I mean, the God's honest truth is no. I mean, Bill, let's understand this-and I almost hate to indulge in such an august setting as the White House-......
But right now I gotta make a beer run!!

The last line is my words. But I think most contributors get the point.

All I know is that they are going through an awful lot of effort to not show a Birth Certificate. The whole debate could be ended in a matter of seconds.

I tend to agree with you, Wendy. I have barely followed this nonsense. Do I think it is possible that Obama was born outside the US? Anything is possible. But unless someone can produce witnesses and solid evidence to prove otherwise, these birthers are a distraction and the Dem's are loving it.

Another thing. These press conferences are a well orchestrated joke.

Yesterday, I suffered through Hardball just to hear to some jackass demand the Repulicans denounce this fringe group. The house just voted UNANIMOUSLY to commemorate the 50th aniversary of Hawaii's statehood "Birthplace of Barack Obama"!! But THAT isn't enough.

This is just further evidence to me that this administration wants us all to keep our eye off the ball while they continue to dismantle what the founding fathers envisioned. Watch out for those "Staters." Because as this administration continues to slice and dice this country, their numbers just may balloon. Could we see another Civil War? I would not be surprised.
